In Virgin Islands, St Croix and St. Thomas…St. John…and Adjacent Islands.* Through Friday afternoon* Deep southerly flow as Hurricane Maria continues to move awaywill continue to lead to heavy rainfall, especially along thesouthern slopes of Puerto Rico, and across the south sides ofthe St Thomas and St John. This will lead to rapid rises alongall streams and rivers at the U.S. Virgin Islands and PuertoRico. Mudslides are also expected. Any homes in low-lying areasnear rivers and streams will be flooded and flooding may leaveresidents with no avenue of escape.
