Cancun Underwater Art Museum – Isla Mujeres , Quintana Roo
The Underwater Art Museum (MUSA) seeks to demonstrate the coexistence between art and the environment. It consists of pieces of a special marine concrete which facilitates the creation of corals on their surface. They are placed on the seabed and have become artificial reefs and a refuge for marine life.
Marvel at more than 500 sculptures that MUSA has permanently submerged. Examine the sculptures fixed to the bottom of the sea in an area larger than 1400 square feet containing more than 200 tons of art. Discover the two galleries that make up the museum: Manchones and Punta Nizuc.
Additionally, if you do not want to get wet, you can decide to make the visit aboard a glass-bottomed boat. It is a boat with windows on its sides through which you can see a fragment of the second largest barrier reef in the world, as well as turtles, parrot fish, angel fish, and many other wonders
