Destination weddings are becoming increasingly popular for couples who want a more intimate wedding in an exotic location. You may choose to wed on the beach, in a tropical garden, by a waterfall, at your villa, or at a church. Whatever you decide, the island’s friendly people and beautiful setting will be sure to make your special day a memorable celebration.
If you would like to get married on Jamaica, you’ll need to be on the island for at least 24 hours before the ceremony, and you’ll need to bring a certified copy of your birth certificate which includes your father’s name. If you’re under 18, a written consent from parents is required. If you are divorced, you’ll need to provide an original certificate of divorce. A widow or widower needs to show a certified death certificate of the deceased spouse. Contact the Jamaican Tourist Board (1-800-233-4JTB) for more information.
