How to Access Groceries at Disney World
David Landsel of FoodandWine.com did a great piece on how to have access to groceries while at Disney. I always give these tips to families traveling! Especially if they are staying at a resort with a kitchen.
I have a few addons to his piece.
The Resorts at Disney will actually take delivery from guests arriving 10 days before their scheduled check in. So guests that will need bulky items for their children, ie., diapers, cans of formula, boxes of dry cereal, cartons of shelf stable milk, etc. can actually send this ahead of their stay. Put attn: to your resort reservation number on the shipping label and send it to the your resort. But remember, that box cannot arrive any earlier the 10 days out from your stay. It will be returned to sender.
Another add on to this piece is all of the resorts have a walk in refrigerator the front desk uses for guests. So if guests have perishables delivered of any kind, they don’t have to wait around to receive this delivery. The front desk will take it put it in the walk in refrigerator.
And last, if a guest is staying in a standard or preferred room in a moderate resort, including Pop Century (which is a value resort) guests can request a microwave. If you book through CaribbeanDays, we can take care of this for you. But if you do your own bookings through MyDisneyExperience, you will need to call into Resort Reservations to request the microwave. Tell the cast member that there is a Special Request form that needs to be filled out for their reservation where a microwave needs to be selected.
Hat tip to David Landsel for a great article!
