Schooner Bay 307 - The Lookout

Hi Debbie, Yes, we had a wonderful time at The Lookout. It was just as shown in all of your pictures, and the staff associated with the condo (housekeeping, security and grounds) was wonderful – friendly, professional, and responsive to all of our needs. We absolutely chose the perfect location and condo for us along the Platinum Coast of Barbados. We do not drive in Barbados; we walk, take the reggae bus or a taxi. Schooner Bay is a five-minute walk into Speightstown, where you can access all amenities, and a five minute walk to the nearest bus stop that takes you everywhere along the coast (for $2 BBD). SB is so quiet, unlike many of the other communities on the beach on the Platinum Coast, because it is uniquely located on a quiet street along the sea, not the busy main road. The Lookout itself was perfect: it was quiet, had the privacy and sea view that we wanted, and the outside living area on the lower level was completely covered from the direct sun. We did not want to bake in the sun. If you want sun, the upper floor that houses the master bedroom in surrounded by an expansive open area that has the hot tub, BBQ, etc. The Lookout directly faces the sea, and is not overlooked like so many of the condos at Schooner Bay. Both the inside and outside living areas at The Lookout were wonderful: quiet luxury, beautifully decorated, up-to-date appliances, everything in working order and clean and tidy. The Housekeeper, Cathy, came three times a week and she was excellent – very friendly and helpful. I believe that the owners have everything at the Lookout to make visitors feel welcome and at home. There is a wonderful selection of CDs, DVDs, and books (entertaining, quirky British humour) that just added to our enjoyment. I prefer to swim in the sea, and I was not disappointed. I chose to walk about 40 feet south on the beach from Schooner Bay to get in the sea, as it was all sand, no stones. The water was “delicious”, which is how I describe perfect swimming in the sea! On the other hand, my husband James prefers to walk, so he was pleased to walk each morning for 90 minutes all over hill and dale – inland, not on the beach. So, Debbie, we chose the perfect place and we would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Thank you once again for helping us find this delightful gem! Many thanks to Rachel as well who arranged the transfers with Johnson’s Stables/Sun Tours and pre-stocking the fridge and panty. The transfers to and from the airport were flawless and our driver, Sandra Best, was .. the best! She was a great driver, friendly, punctual and a delight to be with. Best grocery list and shopping yet! I am going to keep that list , and hopefully we will get the same shopper next year. It was perfect. All the best to you and Rachel for the rest of the year. The Lookout is a superb two storey apartment featuring three centrally air-conditioned bedrooms. Each has a luxurious en suite bathroom with marble tiling throughout; the master and main guest bathroom both feature double sinks, whirlpool bath and separate shower. The Schooner Bay development has lovely landscaped gardens, a communal swimming pool and direct access to a beautiful white sand beach. The secure gated community is located just a few minutes' walk from Speightstown, with an array of charming seaside restaurants, shops and amenities.
