Marc Davis – Disney Legend and One of the Nine Old Men

Marc Fraser Davis (March 30, 1913 – January 12, 2000) was a prominent artist and animator for Walt Disney Studios.

He was one of Disney’s Nine Old Men! All of the Nine old Men are Disney Legends. These cast members were the core animators at Disney who created some of Disney’s most famous works, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs onward to The Rescuers. Walt Disney jokingly called this group of animators his “Nine Old Men,” referring to Franklin D. Roosevelt’s dismissive description of the nine justices of the US Supreme Court.

Must watch coverage of Marc Davis from the Disney Family Album #17, click here to see Thank you for sharing, Keith Richardson.

Marc Davis’s credits window in Magic Kingdom is above the Main Street Athletic Club and says: Big Top Theatrical – Claude Coats, Marc Davis, John DeCuir, Bill Justice.
