St. Lucia, Luxury Villas and Volcanic Adventures by CaribbeanDays !
Soufriere is St. Lucia’s most-visited attraction. Tour guides tell tales of the volcano about the last eruption in 1766 and predictions of another pyroclastic event sometime within the next century. Guests also learn from the tour guides that the caldera is seven miles wide and that an agricultural community lives within its borders. St. Lucia used to export the sulfur harvested from Soufriere to make gunpowder, matches and pharmaceuticals.
My favorite adventure is Horseback Riding Through a Volcano
Even though it is just one island, Saint Lucia could be separated into two very distinct parts. The northern area, Rodney Bay offers a beautiful bay and its modern holiday resorts : Perfect if you are looking for calm. On the other hand, Soufriere in the south offers a different kind of environment with its old gorgeous plantation, geological wonders or hidden beaches.
Soufriere isn’t just known for it’s volcano; it has adventures that include botanical gardens, water falls, mineral water falls, mud baths hikes and horseback riding!
