CaribbeanDays.com wants you to find the Hidden Caves of Middle Caicos
Middle Caicos, also known as Grand Caicos, is the largest island in the Turks and Caicos. Middle Caicos is peppered with Limestone cliffs, hidden caving systems, mangoves that are home to frigate birds and long sandy beaches.
These caving systems are known as The Conch Bar Cave network and has underground lakes within their system and Lucayan Indian artifacts protected by the stalactites and stalagmites that jut from the ceiling and the ground. Indian Cave shelters owls and crabs. Crossing Place Trail passes cliffs, beaches and salt marshes.
The Indian Cave is the hardest to find. It is located west of Mudjin Harbour off of a hidden dirt road that leads to a small overgrown path. If you’re able to find it and follow the path you enter the amazing network of Indian Cave. Trees are growing up through the holes in the cave roof. Evidence has shown there has been humans here prior to Columbus. CaribbeanDays can bring you here!
