Important LaGuardia Airport Update

Important LaGuardia Airport Update
Six airlines change their terminals at LaGuardia Airport
The Port Authority of New York and New York Jersey (PANYNJ) announced that, starting December 9, 2017 six airline carriers are relocating their operation within the airports terminals, due to the ongoing multibillion-dollar renovation of LaGuardia Airport.
The $8 billion renovation project will completely replace or update all of the airport’s terminals while also improving access roadways into and out of the airport. It also includes the creation of the LaGuardia AirTrain, which would link travelers to the 7 train and the Long Island Rail Road at Willets Point.
The latest updates that can affect your travel plans
These are the latest relocations which are aimed, according to the Port Authority, to streamline airline operations while also enhancing customer experience at LaGuardia as it undergoes a transformation designed to bring the airport into the 21st century.
·         American Airlines & American Shuttle – which currently operate out of Terminals B and C – will entirely relocate to Terminal B. The relocation of American Airlines to Terminal B eliminates the need for customers to take a shuttle bus between Terminals B and C for certain flights.

·         JetBlue & Alaska Airlines – which operate out of Terminal B – will shift to Terminal A (Marine Air Terminal).

·         Delta Shuttle– which operates out of Terminals A and C – will completely move to Terminal C. Delta Shuttle customers, once the airline shifts entirely to Terminal C, will have unfettered access to various amenities including a 7,600-square-foot Delta Sky Club, fine dining and upscale retail.

·         Frontier Airlines & Spirit Airlines – which operate out of Terminal B – will each handle all departures out of Terminal C and all arrivals out of Terminal D.

LaGuardia Airport Official Statement
“We want to provide LaGuardia’s passengers and employees with ample time to become aware and prepare for these significant changes to existing flight operations”. Also, “We are working with our airline partners to make the terminal consolidation changes as convenient as possible for our passengers as they navigate the airport during this exciting, but extremely busy, time in LaGuardia’s storied history.”
