Unique Encounters in St. John’s

CaribbeanDays can provide you with an unusual, unique, FUN experience: Donkeys. Wild ones.

Oooops! Wrong Donkey!

Many of these islands, like St. John’s, were plantations. Donkeys were used by the sugar mills to power the mills and as working livestock. Once the plantations shut down, the donkeys were left to roam the islands. So yes, they are an invasive species; but fun for Caribbean guests!

These donkeys are not shy about greeting guests. They are docile, curious and adorable.

xenasomerset had a great encounter while exploring St. John’s on horseback. Thank you Xena for sharing your experience!
